How will a POCUS machine help us?
Baby Caleb was born sick and premature.
Our team set up the POCUS (point of care ultrasound) machine right there in the operating theatre.
The POCUS machine helped our team determine the depth of the fluid that was in his lungs as well as its precise location. This allowed the neonatologists to accurately insert drains into Caleb’s tiny lungs to remove the fluid.
Unwell and premature babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit can deteriorate quickly and having access to a timely and precise diagnosis with Point of care ultrasound can expedite lifesaving interventions.
